Appalachian Regional Commission Awards $209,590 Grant for Three River Destination Center in St. Paul

The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has awarded $209,590 to the Heart of Appalachia Tourism Authority for the development of the Three River Destination Center in St. Paul. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement: “Tourism and outdoor recreation are important economic drivers in the coalfields of Virginia. Today’s award of $209,590 by ARC for the Three River Destination Center will support continued progress in making Southwest Virginia a destination for nature lovers and outdoor recreation enthusiasts.” Further Information According to a project description provided by ARC, the grant will support site preparation and architectural and engineering design plans. The plans will focus on a 2-acre site development plan to include land surveying, erosion and sediment control design, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design, the development of site utilities including water and sewer, and relocation of existing electrical and phone utilities. ### |
