Griffith Announces U.S. Service Academy Nominations

Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement today announcing those receiving congressional nominations from his office to the United States Service Academies:  

“Southwest Virginia, Southside Virginia, and the Alleghany Highlands have a rich history of military service, and it is an honor to nominate these young men and women to the United States Service Academies.  I commend these students for their willingness to serve the United States of America, and am confident that they will do so with honor and distinction.  I congratulate the nominees, and wish each of them great success in their academic and career pursuits.”

United States Air Force Academy

Derek Cook – Bluefield, Tazewell County

United States Military Academy at West Point

Corbett Hylton – Richlands, Tazewell County

United States Naval Academy

Jessica Vishneski – Elliston, Montgomery County
Joshua Amodeo – Blacksburg, Montgomery County
Seth King – Stuart, Patrick County
Joel Hunter – Blacksburg, Montgomery County
Nick Elvinger – Blacksburg, Montgomery County
Gavin Bailey – Grayson County
Tyler Bankhead – Blacksburg, Montgomery County

*In order to receive an appointment, nominees must meet all entrance requirements of the specific Academy.  Nominees will be notified by the individual Academies upon appointment.
