Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) released the following statement announcing the upcoming Service Academy Day in Dublin and Abingdon:

“Each year I have the honor of nominating a limited number of people to United States service academies, which offer exceptional education as well as the opportunity to serve our country.  I encourage students interested in attending a service academy to come to our 2013 Service Academy Day to learn more about the process.”

All Ninth District high school students, their parents, and guidance counselors are invited to the Ninth District’s 2013 Service Academy Day.  Students will have the opportunity to meet with invited officials from the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, as well as representatives from university-level ROTC programs.  Congressman Griffith’s staff will also be available to answer questions regarding the process for congressional nominations.
