Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) today issued the following statement on the announcement that Dr. Timothy Sands will be serving as the next president of Virginia Tech beginning in June of 2014:

“Virginia Tech is an exceptional university and a wonderful, tight-knit community that in recent years has experienced days of difficulty as well as periods of significant growth and development.  To Dr. Timothy Sands, I extend my sincere congratulations.  I look forward to working with him, and to Virginia Tech’s continued success under his leadership.

“Also, I would be remiss if I did not thank Dr. Charles Steger for his service and dedication to the Hokie Nation.”
