Griffith Announces Winners of Congressional Art Competition

Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) released the following statement today announcing the winners of the 2014 Congressional Art Competition for the Ninth District:

“Congratulations to Alexis Hillman of Fort Blackmore on receiving First Place for her piece entitled The Mountains’ Echo.  Alexis is currently a senior at Twin Springs High School.  A panel of judges from around the District selected Alexis’ drawing to represent the Ninth District of Virginia in our nation’s capital for a year.  The artwork of the runners up will be on display in my Abingdon and Christiansburg offices.

“My office received a number of entries from exceptional young artists in the Ninth District, and each submission displayed a great deal of hard work and creativity.  I am proud of the District’s talented students, and would like to thank every student who entered our Congressional Art Competition.”
